Persistent back pain after bone marrow test
Has anyone experienced persistent back pain Feels like trying to lock up after bone marrow test and chemo? Test was done in nov chemo finished in April. Also Any physical activity such as I was installing laminate in a bedroom and after next day feels like when I try and walk my feet hurt and I can barely move until I get to walking around for a while?

Reevesk, what type of cancer were you treating? Has the back pain been there since you had the bone marrow biopsy in November or more recently?

Pack pain has been there since bone marrow test I just thought it was from the chemo since I have had all kinds of symptoms

@reevesk Welcome to Mayo Connect. Bone marrow biopsies are no picnic, for sure! I had one October 2018, and another October 2019, by two different doctors, one in each hip. I would check with your oncologist and let them know of the pain. Sometimes the lymph nodes of the lower back are swollen and affect nerves in the spine. Your medical team will hopefully be able to give you some answers.

Brad, your wife just had her transplant so there will be many changes happening. My BMT team at Mayo wanted to know ANY and all changes in my health big or small: aches, pains, fevers, etc... We’d joke about my getting a hangnail. So my recommendation, instead of guessing or letting this new symptom plague your anxiety in this uncertain time, call your wife’s BMT team! They are your go-to source for answers to any questions you might have...and peace of mind.
Feel free to private message me any time. I had posted a response to your first question a few weeks ago about surviving a bone marrow transplant for AML. I’m coming up on my one year anniversary the end of this month. It’s a wild journey but so worth the effort! All the best to your wife!
