It's possible that it's a canker but I don't think so more like a bump that is sore. I find a canker to be more irritating.
I had implants put in about 5 months ago on the other side of my mouth and am using the mouth wash the surgeon gave me to use, It's called Paroex and it seems to help but slowly.

@susanbo2457, I once had a similar bump on the outer part of my gum a year or so after I had a root canal on one of my upper teeth. It turned out to be a small piece of bone that had broken off and was "floating" under the gum. It finally worked it's way close to the surface and broke the skin and I wiggled it out myself. In retrospect I should have went to a doctor/dentist to have them remove it. If the bump feels hard I would have a dentist take a look to see what it may be.
