Anyone else dealing with shingles?

The first shingles vaccine (which I had about 10 years ago) is only 65% effective. The new one (believe that is Shingrex) is about 90 % effective. Keep meaning to get it. Right now because of Covid-19 getting my flu shot as soon as it is available next month is my #1 priority.

I got my flu shot about a week ago at CVS. We're being advised to get the shot earlier this year.

@sue225 That's what I'm going to get next month flu shot already had my Shingrex shots

Hi @sue225,

Similar to you, I had the first Shingles shot right after I turned 60. Last year I had the more effective Shringrex shot (actually 2 shots spaced a couple of months apart). I still ended up with Shingles this year, but I'm told it could have been worse had I not had the more effective vaccine.

Regarding the flu shot, I also got it last week. My doctor said if I got it in September I could get another one in January (I would just have to pay out of pocket for it) and that would take me through the flu season fairly effectively. I'm thinking of doing that.
