Hello Jim,
Could use some expert advise.
I had 3 hoses each between 75 and 100 feet long.the first hose sprung a leak, so tossed it
Last week. Just took the 100 foot out of the garage, turned the water on, and bang all along the hose seam, must of been 20 leaks, shooting up in the air like ol faithful. Quickly shut water off. All the hoses are kept in the garage, so sun and winter do not ruin them.
Right now, am keeping the 3rd hose in garage. Was wondering what a good brand is, I’m going to Lowe’s tomorrow, need to buy at least one. All 3 hoses came from Lowe’s, maybe I should go Home Depot.?
I had some very sticky electrical tape, tried to wrap the tape in leak area. It did not work.
Your input would help, as I’m not sure about good brands.
I keep saying “ big property,big problems”

@funcountess The thing about soaker hoses is that you have to run the water at a very low pressure. When I turn mine on, I look to see if there are any holes spraying out. If there are, I keep lowering the pressure until there are no fountains. I try to adjust the pressure so the hose only soaks and doesn't sprinkle.

I'm not buying soakers from stores anymore. I look online for higher quality ones. I can't pull up in my mental computer where I've found them, but I'll Google it and get back to you.

@funcountess Big property, big cost.

I find 4 possibilities, listed in order of quality (in my opinion):

Water Right
Osmile
Teknor Apex
Flexon at Lowe's - light duty, cheaper

If you pay more, the hose will last much, much longer. I see that you can get most of them on Amazon, some on eBay and some from garden stores.

If I have a hose that has just one leak, I keep couplers to mend it.

Good luck.

Jim
