Leukoencephalopathy with animal spheroids and pigmented gila
does anyone know of someone who has this disease? My friend has been seen at UOFM but a neurologist but he does not have any treatment available. There must be a something out there to at least slow progression down. Thank you in advance.

Hi, @sheen4343 - welcome to Mayo Clinic Connect. Wanted to confirm this description on the National Institutes of Health site is the same as the diagnosis your friend has? https://ghr.nlm.nih.gov/condition/adult-onset-leukoencephalopathy-with-axonal-spheroids-and-pigmented-glia
My son has Toxic Leukeoncephalopathy and has been in a coma for 30 days now. Any help or direction would be vital at this time. It seems to be getting worse. Thank you, anything at all.
To.gah. Sorry to hear about your son... I will saw the Rosary for him........
Hello @ghh and welcome to Mayo Clinic Connect. I am very sorry to hear of your son's coma and diagnosis. I am sure this has to be a very emotional time for you as you mention things are getting worse. Can you share a little more about what your son's doctors are telling you and, perhaps, what has been done thus far for his care?
