Bleeding for 40 days on and off

Posted by lilyw1999 @lilyw1999, Mar 23, 2020

Hi there. I am concerned about my reproductive health because I have had my period for a very long time. I will stop for 2 or 3 days then go back to bleeding, and this has been going on for about 40 days. I had an appointment set for the OB/GYN, but because of COVID-19 cases, it has been cancelled by the doctor's office. I'm just trying to get answers. Has anybody else experienced this, or does anyone have insight into why this is happening? thanks

When I had that problem years ago....I was bleeding heavily and it lead to an endometrioma the size of a 2 liter bottle of pop! If you are bleeding heavily, definitely fight and find a way to get in....that’s my opinion.....usually if you are bleeding that often, that’s not good....but I would be trying to find a way to get in......that’s all I know. I wish luck and hope you are able to get the care you need!

Hi @lilyw1999, if your appointment was a "routine" appointment, I might suggest calling them and letting them know about the bleeding. Non-urgent appointments are being cancelled when possible, but necessary care is still happening. I agree with @phoenixzip. I would also call and see what they recommend to do. Please let us know what you find out.
