How are you getting together with others virtually? Zoom etc.

I’m trying to get our 6 families all together on zoom. I miss them.

Today I will be attending my first Rotary Club of Pinellas Park meeting held on Zoom without leaving my home. Ten members from ages 30 to 87 got on zoom yesterday from their homes to test it out. You can download the free version here:

There is a link to login to meeting on our website:

We may try singing “God Bless America” on zoom today.

@april3

Today we had our church small group on Zoom for the first time. It worked pretty well.

@april3 @ihatediabetes @dsh33782 how did your Zoom meetings go? Do you think this may be something you continue once the stay home orders are lifted?

Our first Rotary zoom meeting went great with 21 people and guest speaker. We are committed to continuing with weekly zoom meetings for the next few weeks at least and have speaker signed up for next Thursday. See schedule on club website here: http://www.pinellasparkrotaryclub.org/

We use Zoom for a number of my volunteer activities and I'm not much of a fan of the video either, so I just let them see my kitchen counter behind me. On the other hand I really love it with my kids and grands.

Yes. We had fun with our whole family again today. I'd say it's a keeper after the ban is lifted.

Delighted to report that my daughter, out-of -state, walked me through the Zoom set up this weekend and I was able to see and hear the whole family!!! Was wonderful. ... Even better, I'm technically challenged and camera shy, vbg, and didn't know how to access my computer camera so I could see and hear them but they could only hear me...Luv it!!!!

Hadn't seen them since visit in Sept. so this was a terrific experience.

A bit of history: In 1980, in St. Louis at the SWBT home office, I participated in a very early model of "video conferencing". The prediction was that this would become available for work and home use in the near future. Who knew I would live to actually experience a version of it in my own home and at a time when virtual connections were more impt. than ever.

We are so fortunate to be living in this country and time of so many technical and medical discoveries.

Suzquez, I'm hoping our family will continue with Zoom long after this distancing is lifted too. Just regret it took this calamity for us to start it.

Zoom has been wonderful for us. This is day 14 of my daughter's Covid-19 isolation, 1500 miles from us. She told her friends on Facebook it has been her salvation - she is an extrovert & an ER nurse, and this has her given access to the faces of the humans she loves, including her beloved toddler nephews - which is reducing her anxiety and helping her heal. It has given the rest of us peace of mind to see her and know she actually is doing okay. I bet I am among many who are thankful for modern technology at this trying time.
I have a new closing for my messages - Stay calm, stay safe & stay well.

I used to belong to the Pine Island Toastmasters Club in Pine Island, MN. I quit a few years ago but have maintained contact with the club and my Toastmaster friends. I continue to get their meeting notices and had planned on rejoining. Like other groups they have had to make changes due to COVID-19. I received a meeting notice from them earlier this week and found out they started using Zoom. I joined their meeting this morning at 6:30 with my cup of coffee and had a blast seeing my old friends and how technology has brought us back together. I'm really looking forward to their next meeting on April 17th.

@sueinmn I learned you can add your own background to the Zoom session so I had one of my yard and cat sitting behind me 🙂

@johnbishop - How? I'm sure my family and colleagues are tired of the view of my not-too-neat kitchen counter, and background options are limited in my tiny house.
