Visual Escapes and Daily Inspirations: Share Yours

Let's create a space to offer a daily reprieve.

The COVID-19 pandemic has brought a lot of uncertainty and fear into our lives. Some of that fear and uncertainty can be caused by over thinking what is going on or unnecessarily worrying. So, I'm making sure I wash my hands frequently, not touching my face, staying away from social gatherings and all of the recommended guidelines to help avoid getting or spreading COVID-19 but it can be a little boring. I try to not watch news all day long while I'm in this self imposed captivity. I like to take pictures of birds and other creatures from my window as a welcome break.

I invite you to join me in sharing pictures, favorite poems, sayings, mottos, funny moments. Let's take a daily break together.

This little guy was hugging my window yesterday and it took me a few minutes to recognize it - Mayfly. When I first moved to Minnesota I remember seeing them cover a bridge along the Mississippi River and they had to use snowplows to clear the bridge. Looks like it's coming into prime time for them now -- They're coming: Mayfly hatch expected along Mississippi River soon -- https://bringmethenews.com/minnesota-lifestyle/theyre-coming-mayfly-hatch-expected-along-mississippi-river-soon

@johnbishop those are different .Never heard of them but in Pa if a crab would live in water it was fresh drinking water .Up at our camp we had a block container that captured the brook water on our property and had a crab in it . That was the best drinking water , I would bottle it and bring it home with us.

@lioness, Never lived near a large body of water so fresh crabs mostly available whenever I traveled to other parts of the country. Interesting to hear about them and the good drinking water. Amazing what all we learn by sharing in these forums! Smiles

Avocados are a passion and I have to really be careful because I can eat a whole one at one sitting if not careful but not good for my poor kidney function. Your photo is purely tantalizing !! Oh, yum!

As a comedian ventriloquist with hilarious dog on America's Got Talent once quipped about a tasty dog treat morsel: " Oh, Yes, Yes, Yes, I Want!"!! IMO, One can never have too many olives on hand. Will ff the AGT very funny quip if I can locate it. Humor is so very good for the soul!!,
