Visual Escapes and Daily Inspirations: Share Yours
Let's create a space to offer a daily reprieve.
The COVID-19 pandemic has brought a lot of uncertainty and fear into our lives. Some of that fear and uncertainty can be caused by over thinking what is going on or unnecessarily worrying. So, I'm making sure I wash my hands frequently, not touching my face, staying away from social gatherings and all of the recommended guidelines to help avoid getting or spreading COVID-19 but it can be a little boring. I try to not watch news all day long while I'm in this self imposed captivity. I like to take pictures of birds and other creatures from my window as a welcome break.
I invite you to join me in sharing pictures, favorite poems, sayings, mottos, funny moments. Let's take a daily break together.

@zeiracorp You need a hobby, bro Does he/she have a name?
No vet bills because I ( now retired ) animal care provider for 25 plus years . Just have that white dog for a hour weekly. I am their walker/ nanny. I love what I do. Interesting- when I was in my 40’s I had a hard time getting jobs. Before The ADA ; never a problem.i read a book called Making a Living with a Job- it suggested trying to get a job combining your interests. Critters and Photography- loves it. If I started now ( before the thing) I would not have stay on. I love socializing my critters. I take two pals along or we go to places. Vets have told my clients your critters are living longer because of me . Buddy the St Bernard walking with his wee pal Murray a Norwich terrier- what a friendship and sight to behold. Buddy greeting folks on his steps every season( we freezing- he’s fine) . Or having a party with his friends in tbe park. Harley the poodle hanging with him or her other pals. Trying g to interact with cats - never successful ( Buddy was her pals in this same Attrempt .). Or Gus tbe Golden hanging in coffee shops having folks come up to him patting and saying hi. He and a buddy hang around in tbe churchyard together. Such a blast with my pals. Before this thing; the kast two years. Socialization between folks/ critters are no longer . Oeople even with dogs are in their phones sadly.
@bookysue Yay, free vet advice!!!!!! Never met a Golden that wan’t friendly and loved by a crowd. Hobbes the last few years started having bowel problems and we were given him medication to help move things along. At one point, he and I were on the same antibiotic. I knew for certain that his inner organs/problems were just like mine. We had a great vet; and I will forever be grateful to her. I think we were able really connect as women and our devotion to animals (her all of them, me my Hobbie) I’m blown away with your herd.!!! What fun
I’m in sunny Arizona. Moved here from Colorado 8 1/2 yrs ago.
@ John Vol Mentor: I’m a Mayo Clinic patient.
@thinkhappy, I love ladybugs, too!!! One Mothers Day, daughter and grands presented me with a "store bought pkg" of live ladybugs for my garden....I was beyond ecstatic. They were here from out-of-state and we had such Fun releasing those tiny lovelies!!!
@fiesty76. I was reading about incorporating ladybugs as a natural predator fir aphids. My tomatoes and cucumbers (every year) get them. Drives me crazy. I’m thinking about planting nasturtiums in a one of my planter bags ( 25 gallon cloth bags I use to garden in -they’re pretty slick) but I’m afraid the nasturtiums will attract aphids ( which is the point of planting them) but will jump over to the next bag (side by side-4 bags) Any thoughts? Good idea or bad? Ladybugs a batter idea? Or both? Or spray and take my chances with the chemicals? Or give up🙁?
@fiesty76 Goodmorning . Just read your post about lady bugs. When winter was over in my attic I would find hundreds of ladybugs guess they where hibernating there somewhere . I would get them by the handful and put in garden they are good for the aphids you are right about that . Love this little creatures . Haven't seen any in awhile .
@virgo1952 NO dont use chemicals go naturel there are so many products you can use from ladybugs to dried blood to beer in a saucer . NO NO NO please dont use chemicals.
@lioness okey dokey. Going a la natural it is. Are u suggesting I Bleed for my garden? You know me to well. Will take your advise and pursue that avenue. Thanks I heard through the grapevine, that baby geese were spotted at the lake. It’s lightly raining this am, but I, virgo1952, will venture out in my pursuit of capturing photos of babies 😁 stay tuned ......
