Visual Escapes and Daily Inspirations: Share Yours
Let's create a space to offer a daily reprieve.
The COVID-19 pandemic has brought a lot of uncertainty and fear into our lives. Some of that fear and uncertainty can be caused by over thinking what is going on or unnecessarily worrying. So, I'm making sure I wash my hands frequently, not touching my face, staying away from social gatherings and all of the recommended guidelines to help avoid getting or spreading COVID-19 but it can be a little boring. I try to not watch news all day long while I'm in this self imposed captivity. I like to take pictures of birds and other creatures from my window as a welcome break.
I invite you to join me in sharing pictures, favorite poems, sayings, mottos, funny moments. Let's take a daily break together.

I'm going through a box of old photos, this is one of my favorites for today. We could have a contest, name Miss BlackHawk Beer 1882?
this is another good one. The little boy on the pony, the photo is inscribed that he's 2 yr old Gene Hayslett. According to records, he was picked up as a drunk driver December 18th, 1946, cost him $300....
R u saying “riding a pony may lead to driving drunk?” Poor pony, he got a bum wrap!! lLike the photo. Very Little Rascals 🙃
I ❤️ that photo
Thanks to all who posted photos and pictures! What a refreshing way to start the day.
@virgo1952 Could you tell me where Santorini stones are found? Does your husband create other types of artwork?
@iamkaren I enjoyed the beautiful picture. Is it a flowering bush or tree? I see you are from Mexico. How nice that you are experiencing spring weather there. Spring hasn't quite reached the northern U.S. yet.
@Erinmfs Thanks for the vintage pictures! I especially enjoyed the advertisements. Inflation has taken a toll on our budgets!
Years ago I had the opportunity to visit Nome, Alaska on a mission trip to do some volunteer work at KICY Radio Station (http://www.kicy.org/). A highlight of that visit was an afternoon visit to see the Alaska Goldmine -- Last Train to Nowhere. The history and story is amazing to think how tough it must have been to build a railroad and watch the hopes and dreams of the pioneers disappear.
@hopefull33250 good morning. The stones I ordered from Amazon for my husband, who is a rock painter. I had been chatting with @lioness and I thought she or her friend ( who is a “pebble” painter) might enjoy painting on these stones. Many of the rock painters love these stones. They come ready to use. These are my husband’s handiwork. I wanted @lioness to see how water based paint and pen looked on these stones. Pretty, huh?? Kind of sparkly😊
Why do I feel like I’m on last train to nowhere???🤣🤣🤣 oh boy!
Good Morning. Coming from the watery shores of Lake Sacajawea located in lovely Longview, Washington, virgo 1952 brings you Wildlife!!! (Kind of😖) i spotted a pair of geese nibbling on the lake bank. You see that stare? That’s “the stare” of a protective mate!!! I put my ankles in danger to get that shot. Just wanted you to know. This unaware human feeding the two geese is about to be ambushed by a flock of hungry winged devils. I had to rescue the humans when the winged devils pounced ( or maybe waddled) Yes, I have rescuing people in my blood... the last photo, well, who doesn’t love a fountain, right? Most of my feathered friends are secluded on the islands staggered through the lake, getting their nests ready for the big day. Will keep you updated. Signing off virgo 1952
