Visual Escapes and Daily Inspirations: Share Yours

Let's create a space to offer a daily reprieve.

The COVID-19 pandemic has brought a lot of uncertainty and fear into our lives. Some of that fear and uncertainty can be caused by over thinking what is going on or unnecessarily worrying. So, I'm making sure I wash my hands frequently, not touching my face, staying away from social gatherings and all of the recommended guidelines to help avoid getting or spreading COVID-19 but it can be a little boring. I try to not watch news all day long while I'm in this self imposed captivity. I like to take pictures of birds and other creatures from my window as a welcome break.

I invite you to join me in sharing pictures, favorite poems, sayings, mottos, funny moments. Let's take a daily break together.

Bloom of the day - Bi-color Nopal (Prickly Pear) Cactus blossom. I tried to get an overall picture of the plant to demonstrate what a show it is giving, there are dozens of open flowers, but each flower is only about 3" across, and the plant is about 8'X8' - so when you zoom out, it just looks like a lot of orange dots on a big green cactus. Each bloom lasts one day, and when the sun comes out this afternoon, the plant will be alive with bees foraging for pollen. This particular plant will probably produce about 1000 blooms in the next 2-3 weeks. All of the little "knobs" below the flower are small buds.

I had just finished copying photos from my camera's SD card to my computer and had put the SD card back in my camera and this little guy showed upon the retaining wall next to my computer room window. I think he was saying "hey! what about me, I'm beautiful too!!" I was able to get a photo and uploaded it to my computer -- thought you might enjoy it.

Sue, my daughters' family had their own Roadie who showed up each evening at their lake home. One year we were having a bkyd bar-b-que when he came strutting up with his new girlfriend. We all applauded his good taste!!! Another memory that brings a great smile. Thank you.

@bookysue, Hi there. Thank you for MR Word info. I have a hard time staying focused on games right now. I will give this one a try. Any tricks and trips. I hope you are feeling well and keeping calm.
Be safe and protected.
