@artist01 It’s positive comments such as yours that that make our day! Mayo Connect is such great community where we can safely come together to help each other. We all have stories and experiences which may help someone else. May I ask, how you chose the moniker of Artist? Would you like to share that with us? No pressure. Just being an artist myself, I enjoy hearing others tell of their interests. There is another group on Mayo Connect titled, Art For Healing. https://connect.mayoclinic.org/discussion/art-for-healing/ Have you been over there for a visit?

Hi Lori. So nice to meet you online, another artist named Lori/Laurie!
I'd love to see some of your work some time.
You asked how I chose my moniker @artist01. I've been an artist for most of my life, so that part was easy, and the "01" part came about because it was in the year 2001 that I got a new computer and began to use sites that required a moniker. The 01 was just a time signifier, you might say.
I have a long story about how I became an artist. As a kid, I was always drawing and painting. I remember in 4th grade there was a boy who only had French language (Canada!) and the teacher had me at the back of the classroom every day, drawing pictures on the blackboard and printing the meaning in English for him. Pretty archaic by today's standards, but I loved being involved with my drawing, for such a worthwhile cause. And that little boy was CUTE! lol
Once my 3 sons were grown and in university or tech school, I was enrolled at the Alberta College of Art in Calgary for 4 years, Banff Centre in Alberta for 1 year, taught painting at the Extension Department at Alberta College of Art, showed my work in galleries in 4 cities. Etc, etc. I shouldn't go on and on. I loved it all.
Can you share your artistic journey? No pressure. Lol
