Let’s Go Walking! Join me for a virtual walking support group
Many of you living with cancer or an autoimmune disease, like me, deal with daily fatigue. You know that exercise is so important to your health, but it’s so hard. There’s always an excuse: it’s too cold or hot, it’s going to rain or it’s raining, or it’s snowy and icy, or I just don’t want to. I, too, have all these excuses, but I have a new rescue dog who wants to go out and who doesn’t care about my excuses! And I’ve got traction devices for my boots.Now I just need a walking group who will keep me accountable. People who say, ‘let’s go for a walk.'
And I thought: What about my virtual friends on MayoClinicConnect?
Mayo Clinic has an easy 12-week walking program to get us started! Here’s the link:
- Get walking with this 12-week walking schedule https://newsnetwork.mayoclinic.org/discussion/get-walking-with-this-12-week-walking-schedule/
So let’s form a virtual walking group. We can agree to walk every day and encourage each other through Connect. We can walk outdoors, in a mall, or in the red center, or in the hallways of our apartment building.
Who’s in? Who’s going to join me?
Come on, Let’s Go Walking!

@imallers can you do the split?

@imallers Oh that's all I can do to lol

Remember the beanie baby craze? That’s where my user name came from the duck was named Jake and it certainly beats my name by a mile.
As far as doing in Walt is concerned I never claimed to be Bob Hope. Although I love ducks my favorite Disney character is goofy. years ago I went with a couple of friends to Disneyland and eventually got up the courage to get my picture taken with goofy. I put that roll of film in my pocket and my mom accidentally ran it through the washing machine so I never did get my goofy picture.
Jake.... quack, quack, quack
I definitely remember the beanie babies and recently found some of my children's. I washed them up and sent them to my grandson, he loves them. I didn't remember the duck-- quack quack. Love it!!
Sad you never got to see the pic with Goofy, however your memory of that time at Disney is a "keeper" like my mother would say when she read a really great book.
@jude07
Did you by any chance have Peanut the royal blue elephant. One sold a couple years ago for $2500. Who would have ever thought.
Jake
No, I looked those up as well and the Princess has a good value as well. Oh well, no loss, it is more fun to see the pleasure that I grandson is getting from the ones I sent to him.
OMGoodness, Pollyanne!! You can do the splits????? I'm in total Awe.
@jakeduck1
Oh my...you said you never did get your goofy picture....I’m gonna leave that one alone. Thanks for the background on Jake the Duck. So many cars had them all over the rear seat window and on the dashboard. All my G kids had them. I had a tiger on my dashboard. About a dozen years ago maybe? Remember the pet rock? I’m a Minnie Mouse fan but do have a gold faced Mickey Watch that’s nearly 50 years old.
