Husband, age 79, has never been on meds for his (dry) macular degeneration. Mayo-Jxkvl dept chair, Mike Stewart, recommended he use Preservision Arends 2 (OTC, 2/day). He's had cataracts removed on both eyes, plus YAG laser on both last wk. So far, so good.

How long has your husband had dry AMD? I'm guessing he's intermediate and stable? He would be considered mild, right? I'm looking for any information I can get on this horrible disease. I am 56 and diagnosed two years ago. It's freaked me out but I have calmed down some over the past few months. I didn't even want to be here anymore if I lose my vision, that's where I was with my diagnosis. Any words of encouragement is greatly appreciated.
