Hi, I'm sorry to hear that you are suffering from these conditions, what a hell this must be for you. In case you are interested to interact with others about your dystonia there is a discussion about this on Connect, here is the ink:

Also, here is a link to an earlier post by Colleen @colleenyoung who is a Connect moderator, regarding other discussions you might find interesting:

Hope you are able to find ways to cope with these issues. Best, Hank
@watercolor8 Welcome to Mayo Clinic Connect. Mayo Clinic Connect is a place to give and receive support.
You feel trapped regarding your medications. You mentioned that you have been diagnosed with dystonia and akathisia. As you know dystonia and akathisia are movement disorders that may be associated with the use of antipsychotic medications.
You may find the depression and anxiety and mental health group helpful. I have linked those groups below.
- Depression & Anxiety https://connect.mayoclinic.org/group/depression-anxiety/
- Mental Health https://connect.mayoclinic.org/group/mental-health/
I'm wondering if you would tell me a bit more about your situation and background so that I can try and connect you with members that may have experience with what you are going through?
I am on Seroquel and getting restless and agitated (akathisia) my doctor gave me cogentin (Benztropine) for it I told her I’m not taking a medicine to counteract another one. I’m trying to get off Seroquel. It’s very difficult for me. I just want to be able to be relaxed. I took the Seroquel because I couldn’t relax and now this is happening. I’m miserable.
@watercolor8 I have had good luck with the Remeron generic Mirtazapine. Not able to lose the weight I’ve gained with Seroquel but it has really helped my depression and helps me sleep at night. I also take magnesium to help sleep. I believe I have tried almost all
Antidepressants and this one has been the best. It does nothing for pain or my anxiety attacks throughout the day.
