I finally agreed to pacemaker after being told by my Mayo Clinic E.P. that I have sinus node dysfunction ...Brady/tachy/ pauses. It can only be diagnosed with an electrophysiology study for aFib ablation. I gave in after 4 yrs of heart pauses that sometimes I felt like blacking out. Ironically, it was at the Stop aFib Conference Aug.2018, I borrowed daughter’s Apple Watch, I could see how really low my heart rate was going, and speeding up randomly. I felt crappy. No more. The pacemaker immediately got rid of pauses while in recovery. Doc was so pleased..it was like he was looking at his science experiment, and got an “A” ! Ppl of all ages need pacemakers, so don’t hesitate. It will give you your active life back. I had same experience of 2 wk monitor in Texas and E.P. Doc said see you in a YEAR🤨. I headed back to Mayo Clinic the very next month...best decision for me.

Thank you for sharing your story. I've never been so scared ! I've been through 2 spinal surgeries and deal with neck pain every day on top of what's been going on with my heart. I want my life back ! I'm gonna try to call my doctors in the morning.
