Are TENS units any help for chronic pain and/or PNE?

I just ordered a TENS unit for some shoulder and arm pain, but I wonder if it might also be of help for PNE?

@rstollery I have used a TENS unit for a long time When your muscle is tight the tens relaxes it so relaxes that muscle and pain

I have one & formerly used it for chronic back pain. I find it is more of an annoyance than a help.
But, my pain is in a joint, rather than a muscle though.
Now, Tens units are available in drug stores at a reasonable price, they used to be $$$!

I am going to try an ultrasound device. I have one at my home in Buffalo but am going to buy one for my Fl place. My doctor used the ultrasound on my heel for plantar fasciitis and it helped. I found a place that sells them for $45 and if you bump it up another $5 you get free shipping. I paid $175 for my old one about 8 or 9 years ago. the site is http://www.tenspros.com/portable-ultrasound-devices.html. I have spent more on pills that do nothing so I think that it is worth a shot. My tens unit did nothing for me either.

Thanks! If the TENS doesn't work when I get it, I'll get hold of that ultrasound website you provided.

My tens unit was as worthless as the tets on a boar pig. The interthecral pain pump was the solution for me. Search wsh66 and read the things I've written about it. I receive all the benefits of large doses of narcotics with none of the side effects as I recieve pnly 4 mgs. per 24 hours. Everything else was, a distraction, except for PT which can forestal the inevitable. Maintaining excellent mental health is also a must for pain patients. Exercise and sunlight help me with that. Dressing sharp and looking good also also lift your mood. You were cool once, get it back. Maintain your swagger and remain terminally hip.
