@contentandwell Why do you think your Dr wont prescribe Tramadol again. That's the only pain med I take besides a Aleeve along with it if its bad . I have to ask each time and pick up the script to be filled but have been on this med for 14 yrs now. I pray they don't take it away from me . Already Lyrica is now a controlled drug so am discussed with the drug or gov whoever is doing this to us. With my fracture altho it was my back not hip Dr just told me to use Ice , heat the rest and it has healed itself I guess as I feel better Hope you feel better Getting old is for the birds for sure

@lioness. When I sent a message on the portal requesting another prescription for tramadol they initially said no. I had had 2 prescriptions for 12 pills and that was from July 23 until last week so I was certainly not abusing them. I sent another note and they grudgingly did prescribe but said at that time that would be no more.

@lioness I have no problem with my back, if I mentioned one it must have been a transitory pain, I don't recall. My hip/femur is still hurting. I can get some things done if I take a precious tramadol in the morning but I know the doctor will not prescribe again so I have to be very frugal with them. Today I tried taking a half of one. It did help a bit. I take it with one Tylenol. I am at the point where I think this will never stop hurting. 🙁

@contentandwell - I'm so sorry the pain is continuing. And I totally appreciate how you must be hoarding the tramadol. I couldn't believe it when my doctor would not prescribe more tramadol just a couple of months after TKR. I thought tramadol was mild - something they gave little girls for monthly cramps. Imagine my surprise when they wouldn't refill!! Good luck.

@contentandwell I'm sorry to hear this . Maybe it is your state I think they are all afraid of the consequences from the gov. or whoever . I have no problem getting my Tramadol . I get a 90 day supply take one at night but can take one during day if needed and with the fracture I was taking more then usual.

@contentandwell I believe tramadol and Lyrica are both in the opioid spectrum of drugs. Those drugs need to be signed for at every stage from the pen of the physician writing the prescription to the person picking it up for the patient. I use one pharmacy consistently and have authorized my husband to pick up and sign for any medications I need. These policies do stem from the Federal Government in an attempt to make opioids more difficult for addicts to access. They have made it more difficult for people using the prescriptions correctly and driven the addicts to heroin. Even some people who were using the opioids correctly have changed to heroin because it is easier and less expensive to get. The problem with that is there is no regulation on heroin so these people have no idea what is included IN the heroin.

@lioness. @2011panc It’s a shame that due to the abusers those of us who need these drugs can often not get them. It’s particularly difficult for me because due to my immunosuppressants I can’t take ibuprofen either, only acetaminophen, which is not much help.
Linda, you are lucky that you can take tramadol at night, it gives me insomnia!
