Any double donors out there: liver and kidney?

The NLDAC is a great program! The recipient made too much $ for me to qualify so I was glad that she was able & willing to pay for my travel costs.
I wish there was more info prominently featured for living donors. I was lucky to find this website & had great people at Mayo but I knew none of it before hand. I really had to search for information after my initial evaluation & much of it was just the basics. I think if people knew more about it, more would donate.

Fortunately, both my liver recipient and my intended kidney recipient were in a low enough income bracket for me to qualify, so the NLDAC has been KEY in helping me do this! And yes, I too wish more people knew about all of the resources available to them. Heck, I wish more people knew that they could donate a portion of their livers while they are still alive; I didn't know that until I got into the process with my recipient! Finally, I wish more people knew just how rewarding it is for the donor to be able to literally donate life. It is the coolest experience ever and I highly recommend it, if one is healthy enough to do so! <3
