My lipase & amylase levels are high & the dr. says I have mild pancreitis. I get checked next month to see if they gone higher. Does anyone with this problem have a swollen stomach? My stomach sticks out & I am small frame & always had a flat stomach so I was just curious if anyone else has experienced it?
Not sure. I see my GI doc next week. Have lots of questions for him. As far as I know, I never had an auto immune disease, but maybe I do and just don't know it.

I had my blood test taken & my levels went up again. My Amylace went from 282 to 395
& my Lipase went from 252 to 403 in a month. I am really worried. I see the dr. next Tues. to see what he thinks. I really feel like my problem is coming from a obstruction & I have mentioned it to the dr's & they say no. I wonder what kind of test they can do to see why my elevations are elevating. I have no pain to speak of in that area.In pain from the neuropathy & my adhesions pain & now worried about this.

I really feel like my problem is coming from a obstruction & I have mentioned it to the dr's & they say no. I wonder what kind of test they can do to see why my elevations are elevating. I have no pain to speak of in that area.In pain from the neuropathy & my adhesions pain & now worried about this.
I was told that I have chronic pancreatitis and there is no pain with that sometimes. Acute pancreatitis involves more pain. It sounds like you do have CP. You took Omneprazole a long time like me. I forgot...did you ever have a CT, MRI or an EUS? So sorry about your levels. Hope you get some results. I had to go on Pancreatic enzymes. Lost 18lb because pancreas wasn't digesting my food. I had a stool test and the level should have been 200 and it was only 15. I will say some prayers for you that you will find out and get treated.

Doctor said it was a sign that my pancreas enzymes level was low and my food was not being digested. I was becoming malnourished. So I had 5 stool specimens. The one for enzymes came back so low, and the one for Crohn's and Ulcerative Colitis came back abnormal. That is why I am on pancreatic enzymes now. They help digest food because I lack them. I am having a repeat stool test next week to see if they helped and to see if the Crohn's and UC improved.

Do you have colitis or what exactly do you have? My enzymes are high & that is why they think there is something wrong with the pancreas but meds & obstructions can cause high levels too. I'm confused bc the dr's keep thinking it is from the pancreas but something is causing me these high levels. Your levels are low so that would be different then me. Do you know if there is any test that could tell me why my enzymes of lipase & amylase are high. You have been very helpful & thank you very much. Let me know how you did on your test next week. That's why I was put on pancreatic enzymes (Creon) I lost 18lbs and eat like a horse, but didn't have the enzymes to help me digest. Today I had a repeat stool test and blood work to see if I am any better. How did you make out with your doctor appointment. You must have a problem with your pancreas, or your levels wouldn't be so high! Sure hope they can help you. I also put you on my prayer list. Good luck! Louise

My stomach sticks out also. Only Lipase was elevated. I have mild pancreatitis also, and Dr. called it auto immune.
The dr. tested me for auto immune diseases but I was ok. Would that me considered the same thing?

They can tell through a blood test. The Mayo Clinic had me do one.Let me know how it goes. Best of luck.
