Does “Moringa” interact with Lexapro?
I feel terribly bad these days. A possible reason is consuming moringa. No online data was found about the suspected interaction. So can you help me? If you feel terrible without knowing why.. it is devastating. I wish I could know what causes me such a relapse!

@aliali May I ask why you are taking moringa? What benefits do you hope to see? Have you ever taken this before, and before starting Lexapro? How much are you taking and in what form? It is difficult to answer your concerns without additional information. As to finding no information about interactions, natural products are often an unknown factor when combined with chemical medications.

@gingerw
I am taking moringa to ease my depression. I never took it before starting taking Lexapro, so I cannot decide whether the symptoms are usual or not. I used to drink two cups of moringa daily in the form of tea bags. According to my little experience with Lexapro and several herbs, There is sometimes interaction between Lexapro and some types of herbs. I think the scientists are more concerned with the interaction between medications rather than between medications and herbs. This is why there is little information about the interaction between medications and herbs. I used to consume moringa maybe five days ago but I still feel terrible!
Hi, @aliali - glad you connected with @gingerw on this topic of moringa and its interaction with escitalopram (Lexapro). Perhaps this might also be a good question for your doctor who prescribed escitalopram (Lexapro) or your pharmacist?
@aliali Not knowing how much moringa is in two cups of tea, everything i found says 6mg is probably too much. Have you considered the idea that since you were not feeling like this before taking the moringa, that you can experiment and stop taking the tea, to see what will happen in a week or 10 days? It certainly is worth a try, to see if the symptoms go away. If the only medication you are on is Lexapro, I would check with your doctor.

@gingerw I used to consume moringa but symptoms persist. It is now a week or so since last time I consumed moringa. When I visited the doctor he was unable to help me at all. Blood pressure, sugar and temperature are normal. He could not do anything to help me
@aliali Look to see if there is anything else in your life you may have changed. New foods, deleted foods, less or more exercise, any other changes in medications or supplements. All I can suggest is to relax, journal when you notice the symptoms that concern you, document time, severity, what you are doing, etc. Looking for a common thread. You seem to be someone who looks closely at everything, and I am certain you can help come to an answer about this!
