How do I unsubscribe from a thread?

I may have answered a post in another group that appeared under the bell icon (My Notifications) before I realized I'm getting all kinds of things in there that aren't in my group (hearing loss) like recipes and so on. I'd like to know how to keep my notification feed to Hearing Loss only, and although I've been to my account again and again, I can't seem to figure it out.

It's not a life and death problem, but it is a bit of a time waster to scroll through so many discussions I don't have an interest in.

@bobbyboomer, I was experincing a similar situation. Here is what worked for me.
I clicked the FOLLOW + at the beginning of the Discussion. And selected the email me option.
When I got the email notice, I opened it, and then Clicked the (Blue) FOLLOW+ to unfollow. (I apologize for my non technical language. I hope this makes sense>)

I can't say why, but this has worked for me. Let me know if this works for you.
