I am having right knee replacement surgery August 23rd. I have previously broken my right leg trying to jump a ditch. I was 65. Lots of hospital time. Therapy over and over. At 68 I am high risk for COVID 19. My Orthopedic Surgeon I know, Trust, and am always well advised. I have watched YouTube videos and educated myself. I am getting all my ducks in a row. I picked up a bad case of Sepsis and was hospitalized again. Dr. Quigley had to remove a chunk of prime beef out of my leg. I am single male and live alone, except for a young roommate 18 years old who I screened quite well. Even had him take the Free Myers Briggs personality test. We are complete opposites. I am an ISTP. Neat and tidy, Sensitive. In addition I have PTSD, MST, anxiety, depression, ED. High Blood pressure controlled by 40 my lisinopril and 25 my HGTZ. I take Tramadol up to 100 my a day. I use Voltarin 4 times a day and the burning sensation is relieved by constantly applying salon pas, icy hot, I take Ducolax 2 times a day. I have vitamins, Chrondoflex, I am 222 lbs. My goal is 185.
I take iron supplements because I am anemic as well. 10 times I have tried to donate blood. I have tried more greens, more red meat. I take Ginseng liquid. Vitamin D3, Fish oil 3 times a day for my Dementia. Aricept 10 my at bedtime and Extra Strength Prevagen. Oxbutyrin for incontinence and a capful of Mirilax with my coffee.

Sounds like you are doing well. You remember listening and signing all those forms of consent, risks. Please don't sue your Dr. It's a waste of time. Take responsibility.
Read the BIBLE. Good luck

@wildebjef Hi, Will. I see you have been on Connect since May but I don't believe I have welcomed you before, so please let me do so now.

I have had two TKRs, is this your first? Mine were both good, no problems thankfully. I think the most important thing is to make sure you have the best possible surgeon that you can find. Do you know what kind of knee you are getting? I have no idea what my first knee is, I didn't really know there was a difference back then, but as I learned more after that I chose a doctor specifically based on what knee I wanted. That knee is a Conformis, and the doctor I had was the developer of it so I felt in good hands.

I hope your surgery will go as well as mine did, and make sure you do the PT advised. I don't think I did quite enough and as a result, I don't have quite the flex I would have liked. I have around 120 but 125 would work better I think.
