Something pressing on my 3rd nerve causing double vision and ptosis
The neuro ophthalmologist showed me my mri and it shows an abnormal soft tissue up against my third nerve. I can read just fine but driving and walking are a problem unless I tilt my head up a little. Seeing a neuro surgeon to see what he thinks but am wondering if anyone else has or had this problem and what if anything was done. Thanks.

@rogernj67, I'd like to bring @ashby1947 @dsh33782 and @Erinmfs, who have or have had experience with double vision and/or ptosis (lazy eye).
Roger, is this a recent issue? Have you had eye problems before? Did it come on suddenly? What did your neurosurgeon say are the next steps?
Well, I am seeing a neurosurgeon on Monday for a consultation. I was diagnosed with partial 3rd nerve palsy 10 years ago but vision was good up until 10 months ago even though I did have the droopiness of the left eyelid. But the last mri shows something alongside the third nerve now and the doctor needs a contrast mri now of my orbit. All this started right after my PMR began and, of course, Prednisone. Anybody else ever have this happen?
oh boy, I have double vision and ptosis everyday. But I have a disease called myasthenia gravis. Some people have tried prism glasses with some success. My double vision fluctuates so I'm not a candidate for prism glasses. Double vision is a nuisance for sure, I gave up driving. I use uber and ride the bus.
Thanks for replying, Erin. I think they wanted to test me for MG but maybe not now after this damn MrI showed something on my third nerve. Did you have imaging?
@Erinmfs Ive had double vision in the past but not like this how terrible that is . I had M.D. and glaucoma so gave up driving also Use bus or access here . Have my groceries ready to go for delivery nice service Have a good day
