I have severe dry eyes from autoimmune diseases also. Couldn’t use Restasis or Xiidra because they burned so bad. I’m trying Cequa. The drops don’t burn, but I’m trying to decide if the Xiidra May have helped dryness more.

Good evening @bbjones, Welcome, big time, to Connect. I am so sorry that you suffer from dry eyes? Do you live in an arid climate?

20 years in the mountains of Southern California…..have done a number on my eyes. I have tried it all……Restasis to Xiidra. Lots of work on the Meibomian glands to keep them from drying up. Heating elements, warm eye patches and gallons of eye gel, ointments, and warm compounds.

A year ago, I moved to a much more humid environment…..and that in itself has helped immeasurably. Even with higher humidity, I still use Xiidra and find it more effective than Restasis ever was. Here's the secret. You need to keep these medications in the refrigerator so they don't sting. Then remember to use the gels, 30 minutes or so after the Xiidra treatment. Try it….it works.

May you be free of suffering and the causes of suffering.
Have you asked your ophthalmologist for assistance?
Chris

I just tried Cequa and it does not work as well for me as Xiidra. My Dr told me Xiidra is more powerful so I’m going back to using it but keeping in frig to help with burning 🤞
