Hi @sunny1971, I just had my right eye cataract surgery last Friday and I'm still a little sensitive to light. From what I've read it's common for a few days after the surgery and can also last a couple of months. Here's some information I found on the link below...

"Light Sensitivity
Again, sensitivity to light after cataract surgery is considered quite normal if it lasts for a couple of days. If your eye remains light sensitive for more than a few days, getting a professional opinion is a much better option. Sometimes, you might need to wear sunglasses even for a few months before sensitivity to light is completely gone. Prolonged light sensitivity can also serve as a symptom of some other underlying issue like a higher degree of inflammation. This is when you might get a prescription of eye drops for its treatment."

Was your husband prescribed multiple eye drops to use daily for the first 4 weeks or so after surgery?

@johnbishop I'm sorry that I neglected to wish you luck last week John. How'd the surgery go for you? I mean besides the light sensitivity which will or should dissipate.

@johnbishop Hi John glad your surgery went well A couple of days to a week should do it When I was little I had the measles My Mom told the babysitter not to let light in the room she forgot and opened the blinds hence light on my eyes wore glasses all my life till my surgery but still do with my now Glucoma and M.D.
