JK, Yes, it is really great that Mayo does this. They asked who came from the farthest. Hawaii won. Volunteers served the food. I recognized one who was the first nephrologist I saw at Mayo when I was being evaluated for a transplant. Don’t understand the buffet at MGH either. Hopefully if they have it again at MGH it’ll be a better turnout.

@cmael, I also wondered about how the transplant picnic would serve food at a picnic. It looks like there were volunteers who served the food, thus eliminating contamination by individuals goint thru the line and self serving. I would be very comfortable eating at this kind of a 'buffet' where the foods are kept at safe temperatures, and served in a controlled safe way.
