Traveling internationally during this measles outbreak

Posted by Becky, Volunteer Mentor @becsbuddy, May 15, 2019

My immune system is low because of prednisone and rituxan for CLIPPERS disease. The Colorado Dept of Health says all travelers should get the measles vaccine. My doctors have said that since I had measles as a child, I should be OK. Any thoughts? Becky

Hi @becsbuddy! That's a really good question. The CDC has some information that may help here:

Thank you, John. Just got a call from Boulder Health Dept and they said the vaccine is made with a live virus, so I’m not getting it!

@lioness I followed up on the CDC link @johnbishop sent and it seems I don’t need the booster. My flu shot didn’t help as I got the flu! Thank you, you’re always so helpful. I liked your Spotlight yesterday!
