Painful calcium deposit on the inside membrane of my eye
I just yesterday started w/an eye pain /a white hard bump inside my lower eyelid that is so painful. My pharmacist feels it is a calcium deposit that there is no treatment for. She advised me to use clear eyes drops w/lubrication, however the deposit will not go away on it’s on? Is this true. My eye overnight swelled, w/fluid deposited underneath it.. very painful today. Any suggestions or head to the doctor.? Thanks

@breenmcbee I think you had better see your opthmalogist asap
@breenmcbee, I agree with @lioness and suggest you make an appointment with an eye specialist.
I’d have it checked out with your ophthalmologist. 🙂
@breenmcbee
Hi, Hope by now you have gone to an ophthalmologist. If not, the pharmacist may be right or it could be milia which are small white bumps. The fluid may be that the milia has burst(like a pimple). Probably the reason you have pain is because of the movement of your eyes....think of the muscles you use 24/7 in your eye . It could be caused by anything....an infection or medication or something benign. Dr may treat it as an infection or inflammation. Tell them it’s an emergency when you call for an appointment so you can get in faster. Set your mind at ease but only see an ophthalmologist.

@ainsleigh You'll notice that I added your question to a previous conversation related to similar symptoms. Members like @imallears @lioness @breenmcbee have discussed this topic in the past and may be able to offer support.
May I as if your dermatologist mentioned either calcium deposits or milia? These are two different issues.
@ainsleigh Research in milia ,says first see your opthalmologist for a diagnosis then follow her directions she may prescribe a cream or that they will disappear by themselves so see the opthalmologist first
I have bumps inside eyelids and do not know what they are-calcium deposits or milia or demodex. Family doctor no help. He referred me to opthamologist. She was no help eitther-just gave me an Rx for an opthalmic antibiotic ointment which bothered my eyes but did not help re the bumps. I am wondering about trying a dermatologist-has anyone tried that?
Since the bumps are inside your eyelids, I recommend you stick with the ophthalmologist.
@ainsleigh I agree with @fighter, you may wish to see another ophthalmologist. You may also wish to see a dermatologist too. Are you close to a teaching or specialty hospital?
