Yes that was definitely on top of my radar- her stress levels.
we shall see- she has a hiatal hernia and gerd that acts up and causes her issues and this was lower so we’ll find out soon.

@formydad Stress can manifest in many different ways. I bet she will also be glad to hear what the issue is, and get a plan to address it! Big hugs to you and your whole family. Isn't the memorial for your mother-in-law today or soon?

@formydad Another journey ahead. We are here for you, and your folks. I hope their cough/cold is better soon. The drs may hold off treatment until they are better able to handle things. Keeping fingers and toes crossed...

@formydad I'm glad that things are moving forward. Your parents are very fortunate to have such a caring daughter close by to be there for them. My son and daughter are great but live in different states so that would be a problem for us.

update and question- my dads still awaiting treatment for the three new spots of cancer In abdomen found. The proton therapy was denied by insurance the doctors are trying to plead his case so now he is still waiting for approval. My question is he has asked his regular Physician -his cancer doc and the surgeon who removed his bladder- he has not received an answer- even he has this pain across his stomach which causes him to have to take two asprins every day. He wants to stop taking them but the pain wont stop and he cant get answers no one seems to take it seriously. Ive been researching and i was thinking maybe scar tissue pain or adhesions? I sent the info on to him he said it sounded just like his pain. He goes back to regular doc tomorrow i told him he needs to bring them up to his doctor. He has had kidney bladder and former hernia surgeries and prostate cancer. Geeze-o-pete! It could be scar tissue... any thoughts?

@formydad Definitely he needs to bring it up to his dr, and keep insisting on this pain being addressed. It erodes his spirit to not have it resolved. Very well could be scar tissue, and perhaps that can be fixed [I don't know about how to do that]. Good for you for asking us, and continuing to be such a support for him. How are you, your mom and dad, doing?

@formydad This is not a topic I am well versed on but my mother had adhesions and I know they can be painful. It is certainly worth mentioning to the doctor. Sometimes the person with the symptoms ends up knowing more than a typical doctor because they had a personal interest in it and tend to research it thoroughly. When I was a migraine sufferer and read everything I could find on migraines one of the things I read was that sufferers of migraines often know more than most doctors on that topic unless the doctor specializes in migraines. I think this probably holds true for many health problems.

Thanks for all your input! His apt with his normal physician went well he ordered a ct to see if his pain is from scar tissue then we can go from there on next steps. He was very happy to have someone at least take him seriously-yes he was VERY discouraged! not to mention hes sitting around with cancer growing inside waiting for insurance to approve treatment that has been denied once. everyday he has been taking two ex strength Tylenol for weeks because of the pain.. He has been telling the cancer doc- and the surgeon.. the surgeon said well maybe you ate something hows your diet? Dad was kinda taken back by that comment. so im glad to hear his doc is heading in some direction:)
