Its not easy seeing your parents age or yourself i think. Its hard but its life.
My husbands mom n dad have been having issues too lately- his dad passed out at a poker game and his heart thing was set too high so it didnt shock him- so Ended up at hospital for observation-hes following up with cardiologist- and his mom is in a home- started in independent living- had a small stroke and uti moved to assisted in same complex was doing therapy- but never was able to get back to walking or doing enough anymore to be in assisted shes in memory care part now and its worse! She was found on floor yesterday am from bed! - im daughter in law so gotta stay zipped there are eight kids and the one in charge of medical lives in texas😵 she calls gets ahold of people ect but old fashioned get in peoples faces is the best and most fruitful for movement or attention to an issue i think. Ive been reading on delirium Vs. Dementia and i think she has delirium- maybe another uti
Shes swollen she has heart issues and she said she thinks she has narcolepsy now..idk its hard for me to stand on sidelines but i know i have to although i did tell them id be glad to get in faces up the food chain to get some results.
They are testing the fluid in his abdomen now to see if it is urine or something else.they are putting a drain in bigger than what he had right after operation so idk how long he’ll be in here...
- i was perusing online reading and thought it might be ascites but the nurse said no she thinks it may be a fissure or something related to post op not ongoing which hopefully is a better senario.

@formydad Wow, I had no idea that you were dealing with your husbands family also! You might just have to let that go and concentrate on only your parents. And yourself and your husband. Think you could do that? Maybe he could suggest MayoClinicConnect to his sister—it might give her some ideas and an outlet for stress. Please take care of yourself. Becky

@formydad You sure have your hands full with both sets of parents having aging problems. I agree with @becsbuddy, you may just need to let your in-law's problems to be handled by some of their 8 offspring. You can't do everything. Hopefully some of them live closer than the one in Texas.
