Yes, it does cause constipation. Try six to eight prunes in the morning.

I have been doing the Forteo injections for three months now and have not experienced any complications or side-effects. I do agree with eating Prunes (which I like anyway). There are studies that show eating 10 prunes a day helps with Osteoporosis/Osteopenia, so eating them for constipation will have a double-positive impact. Personally, I’ll put a bunch of prunes in water and simmer them for a few minutes (you can do this in the microwave), then put them in the fridge. They get soft and sweet. Yes, it causes constipation and that CAN be one of the more serious side effects according to the literature so if you are experiencing constipation contact your doctor. For this problem I have used Miralax powder in morning coffee which helps a lot. But prunes or daily grapefruit can also be used for more natural relief.

Lentils are very helpful in dealing with constipation. Very quick and easy to make a red lentil soup. Having that as one meal a day for a few days will often get things moving. Flaxseed muffins are also helpful. You can make your own or Flax 4 Life is a good brand. Have half or a full muffin with lots of liquid. In general of course, increase liquids.
