@ek101085 I hope your evaluation goes well. What a loving time for you and your sister. I think it's wonderful when people are so giving and take it upon themselves to do that for someone. You and your sister will always have an incredible bond.

@ek101085, I just returned from Mayo Rochester from my annual post transplant evaluation. I want to wish you a successful evaluation and assure you that my experience with the Mayo Rochester Kidney transplant dept has been outstanding. In fact every test that you will have scheduled is handled in a professional manner and always patient centered. You are going to be in a good place in any of the Mayo campuses.
Are you going to be in Rochester? If you are traveling from a distance, be sure to check out the Gift of Life Transplant House. Here is information about the transplant housing at all 3 Mayo locations.- Transplant Hospitality Houses - A Home Away From Home

If you have any questions about your evaluation, let me know and i will do my best to help you or to connect you with a member who can help you.
Can you see me dancing on the ceiling! My Beaner Day was June 2, 2020. Our daughter donated a kidney to her 75 yr old father. Anxious and exhilarated at the same time for my son in law and me. We had a slight hiccup when my husband rejected the kidney, which was expected, but Mayo was prepared! After 1 year, both Beaners are back to normal, and my gratitude knows no bounds!
I hesitate to share this, but for knowledge can ge helpful. Mood changes are a temporary possibility, nerve pain is a possibility, realizing a new life is possible is heart lifting!
Tip: having a warm towel available when the recipient steps out of a shower us very much appreciated!🙂 I wish you both well and speedy recoveries, but don’t be alarmed if it doesn’t feel speedy enough some days! It will come!
@ek101085 People like you amaze me and encourage me. My sister got her call this week also. She is scheduled for her living donor evaluation at Mayo on June 19-21. I am currently on the inactive transplant list. I am scheduled for a re-evaluation on June 4-5. If that goes good, I should be moved to the active transplant list. I hope and pray that your evaluation goes well.
