I have always struggled with negative thinking and that seems to come on when I feel depressed. For me personally, it helps to be aware of the good in my life, and even the tiniest things I am grateful for. But, for me, I don't find that this awareness helps me overcome negative thinking as much as I would like. I think that a gratitude journal can be one step in moving your mind in a more positive direction. But I think other steps need to be taken as well. And of course those steps are unique to each individual. Negative thinking is a complex issue for many of us. And it can cause great pain.
I work hard at being positive with my thinking. I go into things with a positive attitude only to come out with negative results. I present with a smile and positive attitude only to get negativity. Must be me. I mostly stay home as the world is so negative or so it seems. I do okay at home. I go to appointments and do errands and arrive back home so upset. Not worth it most of the time.
Yup, negative thinking has destroyed many. I keep trying and this is the best I can do.
I'm not sure where to ask this technical question. Sorry for taking this space but how to change the profile picture I just put up. My dog is sideways!

Hi @georgette12 -- Nice Pooch! Did you upload the photo from your phone? If you take the photo with your phone held vertically like when you are talking it sometimes rotates it 90 degrees. Try taking the photo with the phone held horizontally then upload it. I saved a copy to my computer, opened it then rotated it and saved it to the computer, then uploaded it here.
You can save this one to your photos and then upload it to your profile again if you are using a mobile device. If you are using a computer, right click on it and save it to your computer then upload it to your profile picture.

Oh thanks! I just clicked on the picture @johnbishop that shows my dog right side up and unloaded to my photos on my phone. Now I will try to replace the sideways pic. Hope it works.

Start a gratitude journal.

@georgette12
Perhaps @johnbishop can help you get your picture turned around. If not, I'll try to contact someone else.
