Hip pain continues year after surgery

Posted by cbwidener @cbwidener, Mar 2, 2019

Hey everyone! I am writing to see peoples thoughts.
A little over a year ago I had a total hip replacement on my left hip. It has been the worst year and decision ever.
My surgeon knew I had scoliosis and made my legs even to which it has caused a lot of back pain as I am walking all wonky. With all this as well a month after surgery I had a hairline fracture as my femur is small and the rod is close touching. Thankfully I have bone growth around the rod but everything is so painful.
With all this said is anyone else still in so much pain after a year? Every step is so bad and almost to tears at night.

Note to add.
I have seen two other surgeons for opinions to which they all said the same thing. Nothing is wrong it just takes time. I am super active and work outside. Its beyond tough and I am over how I feel.
Does anyone recommend anything? All the help would be AMAZING!

Hi @cbwidener - Welcome to Connect. I am so sorry to hear about your pain so long after surgery. I have not had hip replacement (but I've had both knees replaced). I'm going to tag some people who have had hip replacements and may be able to share some insights. @beatricefay, @mariemotte, @laura1956, and @scottb32
