@gingerw - Here I thought she had a special recipe. She told me it's on the back of the Ocean Spray bag of cranberries but she also has made it with frozen cranberries.

1 cup water
1 cup sugar
3 cups of fresh or frozen cranberries

- Bring water and sugar to a boil in a medium sauce pan. Add cranberries and return to a boil. Reduce heat and boil gently for 10 minutes stirring occasionally.
- Pour sauce into a bowl, cover and cool completely at room temperature.
- Refrigerate until serving time. Makes 2-1/4 cups.

She always made this anytime she cooked turkey and/or chicken. It's great for a sauce. I like it on my yogurt as a topping since the yogurt I make doesn't have any added sugar and cranberries add a great flavor.

That sounds good. I love cranberries and love to use them in my gluten free cranberry loaf. Never thought to add them to yogurt...long time since I had yogurt....loved plain Greek yogurt with any kind of fruit on top....especially frozen cherries.

I have one last oatmeal portion for tomorrow morning...yay.

Laughing, @johnbishop, Because as a young adult, I asked my mom for her wonderful choc. chip cookie recipe and she told me the same thing your mom told you!!! We all have more in common that unites us than differences, yes? Smiles P.S. Thx for the topping idea for unflavored Greek yogurt, too!

Good (almost) morning John,
And the cooked Cranberry mixture is better than canned because ???
Yogurt without additional sugar? You gotta be kidding. If you must have yogurt how about a nice crumbled up candy bar on top with some chocolate and carmel sauce. If your determined to eat such awful undigestable things at least try and make this stuff a bit more palatable. We’ll delve into liver and oatmeal after my stomach recovers from the thought of eating such things. I throw out better stuff than that.
Hope you guys get a stomach pump for Christmas!!!
