@annabannana

melanoma, he had a tumor on his kidney that was removed, has had other skin cancer (basal), had his prostate removed, has rheumatoid arthritis, had shingles in the fall, and is currently healing from pneumonia. It's just been one thing after another over these past 4 1/2 years. I tried at 1st to be an expert on nutritional do's and don'ts, but learned at the time that I was better to support him emotionally and not be the "food police!" Now though, he's asking for help and I don't know where to go for good guidance with his multiple challenges. I'll definitely suggest he try to see a nutritionist when he's there for his next visit in the spring.

@annabannana - perhaps you might call your husband's Dr for a reference. He's suffering now. What foods can he tolerate now that he's not supposed to eat on another list? Many foods that he shouldn't eat for his colitis are also good foods to help lower his cholesterol.
