Publix stores here in Florida sell chopped broccoli, cauliflower and carrot mix, chopped onion, squash, zucchini, sliced mushrooms, chopped celery, sliced peppers ...there’s always the baby carrots...Whole Foods has a little more variety at steeper prices. If you buy baby red potatoes, you only have to wash them, no need to slice. And Publix has Aprons...ready to cook meals with all the ingredients but you’re paying a price. They have a cooked pot roast meal that is quite good but probably a lot of salt for you. If you like beets, Love beets are already cooked in the produce aisle. Corn on the cob is already stripped and packaged for you.
Whole Foods and an organic store called earth fare have cooked meals....make your own combos...Whole Foods especially has a lot. Again you’re paying for it. At EarthFare I bought a turkey loaf dinner...2 fat slices and 2 heaping mounds of mashed potatoes for $6...So good and 2 meals. Their pizza is fantastic. Their stuff is fresh and organic and you can eat in the store...same with Whole Foods. Ready made pasta, quiche at Publix. Quite a lot of convenience today in supermarkets.
White turkey is a good cold cut...it’s still processed food which you should not have too much of. I rarely eat sandwiches and won’t touch white bread. If you like cranberry sauce, try putting that on a turkey sandwich or lettuce with Italian dressing in place of a bread spread. Keeps it moist.
What are the names of the stores that you go to? I go to quite a few different ones because I know what I like at different ones and I enjoy it. Even the deli departments of different stores have prepared stuff for you but it takes traveling.

If you luck out you might come across a food sampling day while shopping..My Publix seems to be doing this a lot and one day I had my entire lunch all over the store....even wine sample! Awesome.

I don’t think I said anything unthinkable in this post for your sensitive eyes to read. If I did, just chew on it lol.

Regards from FL Mary who will not mention a fabulous meal she had at an exceptional Japanese restaurant last week.

@imallears My husband doesn't like going to Costco or Sams Club on the weekends because of the crowds. But he will every so often, just to take advantage of all the sample carts! It's pretty embarrassing, as there are most of the things I cannot have, so he'll get two "one for my wife, also" then proceed to eat both! Meanwhile I am hanging on the cart, cane in tow, waiting for him.

WOW what a selection of ready to go veggies. We don’t have near that many. We don’t have Publix, Whole Foods or Earth Fare. Safeway is the only big chain store. We have a Costco and Trader Joe’s and Sprouts. The rest are California based or locally owned.

Ive never seen broccoli, cauliflower and carrot mix, sliced pepper. Or zucchini or sliced mushrooms which I consider a blessing. Red taters is a good 💡 idea. See you can cook and eat normal stuff. And isn’t it better than taking the life of a Innocent duckie 🦆 one of God’s most beautiful creatures and then living with such guilt. I’ll and that for you. Of course it is. I know you probably weren’t thinking clearly at the time and only did it in a moment of weakness.
Might be worth moving to Florida for the grocery stores. Got any houses for sale on your street? With that silver tongue of yours you might even be able to talk me into coming over for lunch and dinner every day. But don’t count on me for New Years Dinner, Linda @lioness is expecting me for pork and sauerkraut.
I’m absolutely amazed that you didn’t say anything unthinkable but I’m shaking in my boots that you did something unthinkable at the Japanese restaurant.
I am curious what you had. I hope you had some vile ocean scavenging bottom feeding sea creature and not what I’m thinking.
I usually have Katsu or Vegetable Tempura. You know, normal food!!!
