Recipes, Food Tips, Healthy Eating & More
Some of the members of the Gratitude Discussion Group were interested in having a place to share recipes and food ideas. I’m hoping that we can use this thread as a place to have that kind of discussion. I’d love to hear your ideas for quick meals, comfort food, healthy snacks, and more.
Personally, I’ve just been through a bad reaction to one of my medications that left me with a very queasy stomach. I would love to hear ideas – or recipes – that might be used when you need to get something on your stomach, but don’t want to overdo it.
Hopefully, this thread will even be a place where we can share recipes for special treats and yummy rewards. It doesn’t always have to be healthy!
I’d love to hear from members who have been part of other discussions AND from new members who have good ideas, recipes and food tips to share. I’m excited to see who might start us off here with an awesome food suggestion!

WOW, Those peaches sound really good but I freak out fixing a frozen waffle so I’ll be content with a fresh peach, fuzz and all. The only cooked pineapple I get is on pizza which isn’t allowed but rules were made to be broken. Grapefruit, icky, yucky, ranks right up there with coffee and liver. Thankfully I can’t have it because of my seizure meds.
Hey, anyone here make waffles that literally melt and totally disintegrate in your mouth without chewing. My friend was from Sweden and between those and Kroppkakoras I was in heaven.
As Gourmet as it gets around here is a bowl of cereal.
I’m envious,
Jake
@imallears Those are good tips when I canned my peaches I put them in boiling water for a couple of minutes and the skins slipped off same thing I guess. I love the chicken recepie I,ll have to try it tonight .
@imallears Mary, Tell me more about bagel seasoning. Do you mean seasoning like an everything bagel? Where do you get it? The chicken sounds very good!
I love love bagel seasoning!! I put it on all my meats, grilled potatoes, you name it. Thanks Mary for sharing. Also I get mine from Trader Joe’s (least expensive).

Hi,
More stores are selling this...Trader Joes has it but I get mine at Walmart..2$ for 2.6 oz bottle. It’s called Everything Seasoning for Bagels and More by Olde Thompson. It contains sesame seeds, salt, dehydrated garlic, dehydrated onion, black sesame seeds and poppy seeds.
I am making Italian chicken sausage (2 links) , brocolli, cauliflower , carrots, onion, peppers, one large red potatoe, pineapple tonight . Throwing all in the oven at 425.....sprinkling this seasoning with pepper, maybe a little tumeric..over lightly oiled veggies and putting on pan with the 2 sausages. Then I slice up one sausage and have that with half the veggies. When I have kale or fresh spinach I massage either with a little olive oil and put on the tray for the last 5 minutes or so...the kale gets krispy. One of my favorite meals and I often buy the precut veggies if they are on sale . Takes maybe a half hour. I’ve added mushrooms and zucchini and you can remove any veggies if they cook faster than the others. I like the taste of Publix Greenwise Mild Italian turkey.
That and vino and one piece of salted dark chocolate....

Hi,
I think the word is getting out about this seasoning. Last time I went to Walmart, I bought the last 3 bottles. There may be salt free versions online for those who have to watch that. I have also crusted fish with it. Sprinkled on salad but it gets lost in there.
Getting addictive.

I'm coming too, so set two extra places!
@parus Yes, our heatwave has passed as well, however, not before storms interrupted power for 48 hours. I was thrilled when it came back on!
@imallears Me, too! Sounds like a party in the works!
