Hi,
Yes mussels are shellfish....crustaceans and mollusks(like clams) are both types of shellfish so you can’t have either if you are allergic. I think octopus and squid are considered shellfish but not sure about that. I’d Goggle any type of caned fish (there are canned mussels and oysters) if you were to go shopping and were thinking of buying a can. Smoked oysters are good canned but you can’t have them.

@imallers I thought they where . No I cant eat any shellfish now so I eat Alaskan salmon ,no farm salmon, cod ,halibut use to love perch but cant find it out here . Sea bass . We went deep sea fishing of the Fla. coast and had this so good.

@imallears- They are the only shell fish that I can't eat and I love them. One time when my husband and I were in Paris we went to this beautiful and expensive seafood restaurant. I ate a pile of them. I thought that maybe I had out grown my intolerance, but no I didn't and had to make a mad dash to our little apt.
