Hi,

You can thaw frozen shrimp in cold water...keep changing out the water so it doesn’t get warm. Just thaw the amount you need..very fast. Don’t overcook the shrimp whichever way you decide to cook it. It cooks very fast. You will taste the difference between cooked and fresh frozen shrimp and never buy cooked shrimp again.

Regards from FL Mary

@imallears When I was younger everysummer we would go to my brothers in Brunswick Ga. he loved to shrimp bring a boast load home we devine and clean them now I'm allergic to shrimp and shellfish . Loved both lobster and shrimp boohoo

@imallears oh, thank you! I'm going to try this method! it sounds easy

@imallears- Jake- I defrosted shrimp in water with some ice in the refrig. But I only buy them fresh now. Also do not buy shrimp from Asian countries. There water is filthy. Shrimp should be cooked very quickly. Maybe 4 minutes to 5 on each side. You can marinate them for about 5-7 minutes in a vinaigrette, pat them dry and put them on heat with a bit of EVOO. Jake, have you tried them?
