I just tried something a little different-I caramelized some onions (extra virgin olive oil) added some "malt vinegar" then added some baby greens and fresh minced garlic. I cover it tightly until greens were tender. This was cooked on medium high heat. For me it was a gourmet meal.
The malt vinegar made a nice change. I was out of Basalmic and substituted the malt. Will continue to do so.

I've tried a recipe like this too! or I may have modified it a bit... I caramelized onions in olive oil, added fresh mushrooms and kale. it was such a delicious side dish!

Hi,
Malt vinegar is one of my staples. Love it on Fried or Baked fish and fries. You have to try coconut vinegar on strawberries...It’s a white balsamic vinegar (don’t think it’s in a regular supermarket). Wow, does it enhance the flavor..just a few drops....
brings out the sweetness in veggies, especially onions and carrots, I think. I do that a lot. Amazing what you can do with any old veggies and turn it into a really healthy filling meal.
