Recipes, Food Tips, Healthy Eating & More
Some of the members of the Gratitude Discussion Group were interested in having a place to share recipes and food ideas. I’m hoping that we can use this thread as a place to have that kind of discussion. I’d love to hear your ideas for quick meals, comfort food, healthy snacks, and more.
Personally, I’ve just been through a bad reaction to one of my medications that left me with a very queasy stomach. I would love to hear ideas – or recipes – that might be used when you need to get something on your stomach, but don’t want to overdo it.
Hopefully, this thread will even be a place where we can share recipes for special treats and yummy rewards. It doesn’t always have to be healthy!
I’d love to hear from members who have been part of other discussions AND from new members who have good ideas, recipes and food tips to share. I’m excited to see who might start us off here with an awesome food suggestion!

@merpreb Yes thanks Merry you always make me feel better
@lioness- Aww. I'm glad! Thank you
@lioness I would be a bit skeptical about spinal cord stimulation also. I just googled it and found many articles out there and the success rate is somewhat dubious. Here is one article from NCBI which is a good source but rather technical:

Here is another article from the perspective of a patient:

I'm sorry, but I do not recall what has caused this pain. My brother-in-law had spinal stenosis and did have surgery for it, a laminectomy. He was in the hospital for two nights and it has worked out excellently for him. He had a great surgeon.

@lioness I would hesitate about having the SCS also, is there anything else that can be done? If not have you considered going to a pain doctor to help you deal with the pain? I have heard they can be very helpful.
JK

And here is a real recipe!
How to Make Asparagus Tomato Salad:
Rinse the asparagus and tomatoes in water and cut off the bottoms of the asparagus spears, then cut them into thirds.
Bring a few cups of water to a boil on the stove, and boil asparagus for 5-7 minutes. Drain the asparagus and place in a bowl of ice water to keep asparagus from cooking more.
Cut cherry tomatoes in half, and the string cheese into bite-sized pieces.
In a large bowl, combine the cherry tomatoes, asparagus and string cheese pieces.
Pour the dressing over the top, add pepper and basil, and mix. Chill until ready to serve.
@merpreb
A salad without lettuce, how novel. Easy too, not many ingredients. I wouldn’t cook the asparagus. A definite winner if I could find some precut tomatoes, would canned ones work?
