Good morning- I love the crunch of cereals in the AM! Given the current climate in the USA this report isn't surprising but might change what we eat in the AM: Very very sad

Hi,

I saw that on the news. And the 4 lb frozen bag of my favorite triple berry from Costco has been recalled for possible Hepatitis A.
Finished my last bag about a month ago...loved to have on waffles.

Everthing has pesticide traces or other disgusting or harmful stuff. I use to get and read the FDA literature years ago about what they found in all types of food from rodents to fecal matter. Hard to protect yourself these days especially for people who have certain food allergies....cross contamination. And yet people buy food at the Dollar stores. You can buy spices like cinnamon and vanilla for a buck. Guess what they found? Not a trace of cinnamon or vanilla bean in either...just chemicals.
Toothpaste had petroleum oil and other stuff I forgot... Makeup? Are you kidding me? Any brand names you see in these stores are likely recycled containers. Makes you want to grow your own on a farm somewhere and raise your own livestock.

My goal is, if the ingredients on a label are more than 5 or are unpronounceable, I don’t buy it. I can understand preservatives to a certain extent but a simple thing like buying hard cheese to grate rather than pre shredded cheese eliminates the additives they put in the pre shredded product. Plus it skips an extra processing step.

Oh I could rant on...food for thought.

Regards from FL Mary

@merpreb Not good. The only one I generally eat is Quaker Steel Cut Oats. I find cold cereal just does not seem like a real meal. I do use granolas mixed in with yogurt and fruit for breakfast too though, but I don't see the brands I use listed. Phew.
