@jakedduck1 I use a grill pan for steaks. They cook very well on it. I generally cut up mushrooms and/or shallots and put a little EVOO on the pan to cook them, then add the steaks. I do coat the steaks with a little EVOO too so they won't stick. If you put the oil on the pan it really does not stick well to the ridges.
If you do have one of these, the best way to clean it without scrubbing off the non-stick coating on the ridges, is to use a kitchen brush, gently. I know from experience that using one of the scrub pads made for teflon does take the coating off on the ridges.
