@2011panc
Good suggestion about the thermometer. I should have thought about that.
Tried the air fryer toast setting and it’s the same as the toaster.
@2011panc, don’t be so confident that I’m progressing nicely. Nearly threw it out yesterday.
I braved going grocery shopping today and got a steak to cook in it, we’ll see how that goes. I predict not very good. Oh well, at least I’m use to things turning out wrong so no biggie.

Hello kiddo!

I was thinking that a airdoor electric grill might be the answer to your prayers. On days you don’t want to use a air fryer or slow cooker, you can cook your steaks, chicken or pork. I’ve even made foil packets to grill. Yummy!

@jakedduck1 I can be confident that you are progressing nicely. I have been following your struggles with cooking and eating and have noted the changes you are making -- even if you can't tell while you are in the middle of it all. I have learned to recognize every accomplishment, no matter how small. It helps me hold on when I start getting overwhelmed. I think to myself, "at least I did *___* today." It may be as small as not wetting myself, but today that did not happen. [Yes, some days are really that bad] So bless my heart and yours. You are braver than you know and showing it daily.

jake- awww, feeling a bit down? So many suggestions can be overwhelming but think of how many people are trying to help. But it's all up to you to read the directions carefully and go slowly. This is only if you want to. Do you?

@jakedduck1 You are cooking a steak in an air fryer? I know nothing about air fryers but that just sounds wrong. When it's too cold to go out and grill it, I use a grill pan on the stove. It's one of those pans with ridges so it makes the typical lines on your meat and it works great. Mine is a calphalon but there are many brands. I throw some mushrooms and shallots on there first, and then put the steaks on.
