@imallears Mary, you are absolutely right. Genes do play a big part. My husband's family tends to live fairly long lives so when I married him, after the death of both of my parents, I told him I married him for his longevity genes! šŸ˜‰
My husband is 12 years older than I am, very fit, and takes no medications except an occasional ibuprofen if he has a muscle ache or headache. He looks younger than his age too. I read somewhere, a long time ago, that the age you look is a reflection of your physiological age. In other words, if a person looks young for their age, then they are probably younger in many ways, whereas a person who looks old for their age is probably older physiologically. I think that's probably true, except in the case of people who have some form of plastic surgery or botox.

Hi JK,
If the ā€œAge you look is a reflection of your physiological ageā€ then gracious me, I must look like the walking dead. Never the less Iā€™m still kickin, granted not very high.

@contentandwell I think the genes you have inherited and your exercise healthy eating habits play a big part in you I'm 76 but am younger looking someone thought I was 65 The females on my side all died in there late 80,s My Mom died at 90 I do think it is your lifestyle you have all your life

@contenandwell- Genes play more of a part than we think! If I told you what my cholesterol level was you would wonder why I wasn't in the hospital. But I have no symptoms and I can't take many statins. Both of my sisters have/had very high scores also.
