Sounds like she has a loose canolith (inner ear calcium deposit that helps regulate balance). I've lived with one for years and found it's best to avoid looking way up or down in grocery stores. A loose canolith makes you feel miserable, like the worse case of sea sickness, and the world is spinning. To get back on track I do the canolith maneuver.
