Once you and/or your friend start using it, will you report back on how it goes? I'm still interested in it.

Also, @margieinia, about how much does the unit weigh? (Similar to the weight of a 6-quart crock pot?)

The unit itself is big. The insert holds about 3/4 bag of frozen veggies. I hope that helps.
