How timely. I was diagnosed with degenerative arthritis of the hip earlier this week. Am in pain. It's worse later in the day and sometimes at night I cannot sleep from the pain. I am on Eliquis and Diltiazem. I wondered about pain relief. I've had ulcers in the past from aspirin so know that's out completely for a couple reasons, but wondered about Advil or CBD. I don't see my cardiologist for another six weeks. I start PT this Tuesday and have heard that is supposed to help. I know this is progressive and if I'm in pain already, I cannot imagine how much pain I'll be in 5-10 years down the road, but I did some reading online this morning, and people with afib are poor candidates for hip replacement surgery, PLUS I have osteoporosis. So, I'm thinking I'm going to be in increasingly severe pain the rest of my life. All this make me so sad. I got diagnosed with afib after an ambulance ride to the ER in early March. Was diagnosed with osteoporosis two weeks later, and now this week got diagnosed with degenerative arthritis. Like another person above said, this is not a good way to spend one's "golden years."

The Golden Years are not what we thought they were! My cardiologist and orthopedic surgeon only suggests Tylenol .....no nsaids at all....I am not on aspirin anymore either. One has to be careful with the blood thinners, every night 2 to 4 hours after taking Xarelto my gums would start bleeding and with the aspirin added just made things worse. If you do start to have bleeding of the gums take a regular tea bag, wet it and put it on the area that's bleeding, for some reason that stops the bleeding. I See the cardiologist on the 26 and I think he will change my thinner to Eliquis.. I have osteoporosis of the right hip too and I do not think I will have the surgery for the hip. I was in the hospital for 15 days with the aortic valve replacement ! Exercise is most important .....do what you can with that I just got off another heart monitor and have AFIB too So, I guess when I see the doctor we'll decide about a treatment plan for that.....I really want to get off the blood thinners and there is a new procedure called The Watchman and also one can have ablation. The CBD oil spray is a blessing....I spray it on my hip and leg often, now I'll try the oral CBD for the pain and anxiety during the day. What makes every thing worse is the rheumatologist diagnosed me with severe fibromyalagia so never know where the next pain is going to hit. Always ask your doc about any vitamins too as I'm told that I can't take any anti-inflamatory things like turmeric and with the blood thinner can't have cranberry juice either. Wishing you less ;pain !
